Back to School 2009

June 20th, 2009

After a week of postponement of classes, and adjustment for schedules (as for me, we started our class on the 19th  instead of June 17) finally Colleges in the Philippines opened class last June 15 . As a precautionary measure for the threat of Influenza A (H1N1) virus, which has entered the country few weeks ago, Universities had set-up temperature check on their gates which resulted to a long queue of students late for their class.

Our University encountered this problem on the first day of class opening. I haven’t witnessed this problem since my class started 4 days after the class opening. I am fortunate enough not to experience the problem at its worst because the temperature check will last for 1 week.

My schedule for this semester would be lighter than the previous and it would have been perfect if not with my class schedule starting 7am for the major subject (NCM103-B) and ends at 3pm. My minor subjects are Humanities and Rizal so I guess I’d be able to share a little as I study about these subjects, if you’d be interested.

Philippine Independence Day 2009

June 12th, 2009

<a href=Happy Independence Day Philippines! Today, the entire Philippines celebrates 111th year of independence, and sure we’ll keep it for the the next generation of Filipinos, our children and great grandchildren to enjoy what we are now striving to save against the greedy leaders of the country.

Now more than ever, we have the reasons to become Proud to be Pinoy!

I’ll share some of our old photo from a trip to Aguinaldo’s  Shrine in Kawit Cavite when I was like 12.

Google also commemorates Philippine Independence by unveiling their first ever Google Doodle, which is Philippine Flag-inspired on their Google Philippines homepage.

Microsoft's worst nightmare

June 10th, 2009

This is Bill Gates worst nightmare, encoutering the G.ho.st. I hope Microsoft won’t close their windows.

G.ho.st®

G.ho.st®

Totally cloud computing. I already made an entry about this useful web-based service from the Ghost Inc before. A brochure of G.ho.st® VC we’ve found during the iBlog5 reminded me of this service which I have found 1 or 2 years ago. Read the rest of this entry »

Philippine Colleges Classes Moved

June 8th, 2009

It’s a beautiful day of Monday, and no classes yet! My vacation extends until the 17th of June as announced by the University. Although the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) announced last Saturday that start of classes on Philippine colleges will be postponed until June 15, FEU announced suspension of classes earlier on Friday after unconfirmed information had been disseminated through text messages to the FEU community.

Comment to Feed

June 1st, 2009

I’ve recently wrote an entry about The Hunger Site. I am very much moved by the cause of the website and amazed on how the single click each day on The Hunger Site homepage that I made could have feed those who are in need, while helping them to start building a decent life.

I came up with this campaign inspired by The Hunger Site cause. But unlike the buttons on The Hunger Site homepage which an individual must click to contribute to the cause, as a blogger I would like to make use of my blogsite as an instrument for other bloggers, visitors and myself to DO something for this cause. I do not intend to replace The Hunger Site but giving my readers, and those who are already supporting The Hunger Site, the opportunity to make the reach of the help to more people everyday.

How can I help?

Starting June 1, 2009- Every comment on any topic  posted on http://myphemaster.dejarme.net is equivalent to a cup of rice which will be donated to charities who provides feeding program for the needy.

I do not limit myself just by doing this campaign on my blog but also to volunteer personally with the feeding program during free days. Start commenting now to feed…

Tornado spotted in Manila

May 27th, 2009

This is unbelievable, I never thought I’d ever witness a tornado here in the Philippines most especially here in Manila. My brother recorded the video of the tornado as seen from the window of our apartment unit here in Sampaloc, Manila. I just came from a dinner date for our monthsary when I noticed the clouds forming a funnel shape until it reached longer down to the ground ( I guess, since the buildings blocks our vision).

Updated:  23:03 Manila time- finally posted on my youtube channel. I thought it was the first tornado ever spotted in the Metropolitan Manila, but there were like 2 other videos taken 2-3  years ago.  Sorry for my ignorance for stating on my channel that it is the “first ever tornado spotted in Manila.” Although few more videos were already documented, this is an environmental phenomenon in the Philippines.

I am: at 20

May 24th, 2009

Need I say more, as I woke up this morning, greetings flooded my phone inbox and email as well. I am off my teenage years now and I already accepted the fact (time goes by so fast). I have to stick with the score twenty- for the next 10 years. I enjoyed my childhood so much, thanks to my parents and to all the people who made it possible. I was like a deteriorating engine as I grew up but with all the support that I earned from everyone, I am still standing.

Now that I am growing up older into my adulthood and I took it positively. All the privileges only an adult is awarded, now I am enjoying. Have a driver’s license (drive a car), curfew exemption, vote future leaders, etc. I just thought it was exciting, and very thrilling, just like a video game, you’ll never know what’s in store. But it was different as I went ahead. Aside from learning that we should have taken these privileges with utmost responsibility, sometimes life would have turn the other side from what we have expected, and we can’t just re-load the “last save points” in our life (do we have save points?) just like on a video game. We just have to accept the fact that it has been done.

But for this reason, doesn’t it becomes more thrilling? I’ve always been a positive thinker. You cannot just pull me down and cry. To be honest, with my failures, it took me some time to get back on track and that is what’s important. Don’t force yourselves, but don’t let your long self reflection time to cause you fall down.

I am posting this blog entry of mine last hour before my birthday ends. It was just a busy day. Have you sent your greetings already? LoL, thanks in advance!
